Parasites including fleas and worms can cause your pet pain, discomfort and serious health problems.

Fleas will live in any warm environment such as households, your pet’s fur,  clothes, furniture and outside areas. Fleas can lay up to 50 eggs every single day.  This rapid lifecycle makes fleas particularly difficult to get rid of and an infestation can develop very quickly.  They will bite both you and your pet causing red itchy bumps.  Some animals are particularily sensitive to the saliva of fleas and can develop a nasty dermatitis as a result.

Fleas can transmit tapeworm to your pet.  Because of this flea control and anti-tape worm treatments go hand in hand.  This is important as tapeworm can easily be transmitted to humans.  If you think your pet has fleas or worms, just make an appointment to see us at Blackwater Vets so that we can guide you through the treatments.
